Position Description

As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Schematic entry in Altium Designer for new designs and updates to existing products
  • Develop and maintain design control documentation, test procedures and test protocols
  • Perform testing and data analysis for design improvements and verification testing
  • Perform trouble-shooting and debug of hardware systems and test fixtures
  • Guide technical support staff on engineering test and system integration requirements
  • Provide written reports, protocols, and engineering documentation for testing of component parts and integrated systems
  • Supervise and prepare laboratory technician tasks and projects as required

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Working understanding and use of IPC standards
  • Prior working/design experience with software/firmware combined analog and digital device designs
  • Experience with basic use of tools and equipment needed to test and trouble-shoot electrical circuit boards and systems
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams


 The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers, FPGAs and CPLDs
  • Familiarity with Verilog
  • Experience with working on medical electrical equipment
  • Familiarity with the IEC 60601-1 standard
  • Familiarity with ISO 14971 risk management compliant processes
  • Proficiency with embedded control systems
