Position Description

As a Surgical Simulation Design Engineer, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Design and develop products for surgical simulation training
  • Build functional prototypes
  • Develop sustainable manufacturing processes
  • Gain deep procedural knowledge and understanding to design meaningful products
  • Work with many cross functional areas of the business

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
  • 1-3 years of design experience
  • Excellent hands on prototyping and familiarity with a variety of fabrication techniques
  • Proven ability to creatively solve complex problems and generate multiple solutions
  • Self-motivated and ability to multi-task
  • Working knowledge of CAD modeling and drafting (Solidworks)
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills 


The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomechanical, Biomedical Engineering or
    Materials Science
  • Course work related to art and humanities
  • Interest in anatomy and physiology
  • Ability to translate customer needs into design requirements
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Knowledge of the design process
  • Curious, self-starter, quick learner
