Position Description

As a Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing activities related to the validation and development of software used to control automated manufacturing equipment.


  • Collaborating with equipment customers, designers and software developers to define, document and communicate software requirements
  • Participating in software code reviews to evaluate if all software requirements are addressed
  • Creating and coordinating the execution of test protocols to validate that the software satisfies all software requirements
  • Creating test reports to document the results of executing software test protocols
  • Communicating any software anomalies and/or defects to software developers

Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • BS, BA or minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in a related field
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to create effective and detailed software test protocols and reports
  • Ability to create and document detailed technical software requirements
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel


  • Knowledge of software development life cycles
  • 2+ years performing activities related to software validation with an emphasis on software testing
  • Performing activities related to software validation in a regulated medical device manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with automated equipment, PLC’s and ladder logic programming
  • Experience performing factory acceptance testing
