    We seek a highly motivated molecular and cell biologist to join a dynamic research and development team engaged in basic reserach involved in assessing cell health and metabolism. The candidate will be responsible for being part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team dedicated to research and development projects for various applications in medical device manufacturing and product development.

     

    The person should be a highly motivated, hands-on experimentalist who thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Emphasis is on the ability to successfully perform experiments with minimal supervision and interact well in a team environment.

     

    The ideal candidate will have experience in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry and be knowledgeable in culturing techniques of primary human cells. 

    Position Description

     As a Research Scientist – Molecular and Cell Biology, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

    • Design, implement and advance Cellular Biology based scientific experiments
    • Provide critical analysis of data, report results of studies and make recommendations to scientific leaders in a timely, thorough, and coherent manner
    • Maintain detailed and organized documentation related to work and experiments performed
    • Write Standard Operating Procedures for units and procedures developed
    • Implement appropriate lab safety practices

    Position Requirements

     This position requires the following skills and attributes:

     

    • A degree in Molecular and Cell Biology or Biochemistry: Thesis M.S. with 3 years of laboratory research experience or Ph.D
    • Knowledge of standard cellular biology equipment, i.e. biosafety cabinet, incubator, centrifuge, autoclave, micropipettes, fluorescent and bright field microscopes
    • Knowledge of Molecular Biology techniques – ELISA, PCR/qPCR, cell biology assays, and cell culture initiation and maintenance

    Preferred

    The following skills and attributes are preferred:

    • Experience with growing and maintaining primary Human cell cultures
    • Knowledge of Biochemistry techniques such as fluorescence based assays
