    Position Description

    As a Polymer Design & Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

    • Design new tools and fixtures
    • Develop and Design End of Arm Tooling (EOAT)
    • Develop and Design tooling related to Polymer or Extrusion manufacturing
    • Troubleshooting machine functions
    • Hands on supervision of assembly, wiring, and programming machines
    • Interaction with production staff and other Team Members

    Position Requirements

    This position requires the following skills and attributes:

    • BS in Mechanical Engineering
    • 2+ years experience designing
    • Ability to come up with feasibility study and design concept using CAD
    • Familiar with all phase of manufacturing processes (machining, turning, plastic forming and sheet metal fabrication)
    • Ability to build a working prototype, testing, debugging from the design concept
    • Create 2D detailed drawings (familiar with ANSI 14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing), bill of materials, and assembly drawings
    • Ability to work in a fast paced team environment



    The following skills and attributes are preferred:

    • Perform hands on assembly, wiring, troubleshooting and programming machines/equipment
    • Supervise the building of automated equipment, electro-mechanical equipment or mechanical prototype fixtures
    • Ability to troubleshoot and fix existing devices
    • Experience with Polymers & Extrusions 
    • Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic devices commonly used in automation
    • Knowledge of SolidWorks
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes
    • Experience in medical device manufacturing organization
