    Position Description

    As an Engineer II, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

    • Manage and assist in development projects from design through production phase
    • Plan, organize, perform and coordinate Engineering projects
    • Design, investigate, develop and qualify new products, materials, manufacturing processes, fixtures and equipment
    • Apply theoretical and Engineering principles using analytical techniques for the evaluation and solution of technical problems
    • Write test protocols and reports, conduct various testing, collect and analyze data and trends
    • Develop, qualify and update engineering documents such as manufacturing instructions, drawings, and test methods
    • Conduct evaluations, process capability studies, time studies, capacity and cost analysis and implement associated improvements
    • Provide engineering support to various teams such as Production, Quality Systems, Quality Control, Regulatory, Finance, Clinical Development and Procurement
    • Perform sustaining, development, analysis, evaluation, testing and troubleshooting of finished devises, electrical systems and their respective components, sub-assemblies and test fixtures
    • Review and evaluate non-conforming materials and address customer experience reports
    • Perform root cause analysis, propose and implement corrections and corrective actions
    • Maintain compliance with Design Control procedures including developing or updating Risk Management documents, conducting design and phase review meetings, and marinating device specifications through the use of design Input and Design Output documents

    Position Requirements

    This position requires the following skills and attributes:

    • Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Science or equivalent Engineering experience
    • 2+ years relevant experience as a product development engineer
    • Understanding of technical reasoning, prototyping and manufacturing processes
    • Ability to learn new products/processes and adapt to design control procedures quickly
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
    • Knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks
    • Demonstrate verbal and written analytical/problem solving, communication, multi-tasking, and interpersonal skills

    Preferred

    The following skills are preferred:

    • Experience in manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, extrusion and stamping
    • Experience with FDA regulations, design control procedure, ISO requirements, GMP guidelines and manufacturing scale-up processes
    • Background in the medical device field and Design Control procedures
